The way a person holds themselves during conversation is a good indicator of their parent’s socioeconomic status (SES).

Psychologists at the University of Berkeley videotaped volunteers getting to know each other in one-on-one sessions. During their review of these interactions, the researchers checked for disengagement behavior (fidgeting with personal objects, doodling) and engagement behavior (head nodding, laughing, eye contact). They found that participants from higher socioeconomic backgrounds were more likely to display disengagement behaviors.

The psychologists conclude that those born to well-educated, relatively wealthy parents feel less dependent on others, and this is reflected during conversation in their non-verbal cues.

So if you want to trick people into thinking you are well-born, please don’t waste money on fancy cars and bottle service. Instead just play with your iPhone a bunch and stare off into the corner for no reason.

Class is a construct by the rich to control the poor! Their children being raised not to feel empathy! We are all part of the geoindustrial complex!

My parents are quite rich and I am extremely engaged when meeting new people.

Although I have always wanted to be one of those richies who can just ignore others and stare off into space.

But I have a smiling/talking/eye contact addiction. Even when I know it is not good for me.

Maybe its cause my parents keep their riches all to themselvezzzz.
